Biography of the Chairman

Hamed El Chiaty, the Chairman of Travco Group International, graduated from the American University in Cairo with an MBA in Economics. Backed up with few years of experience in tourism, El Chiaty established his first travel company, Travco Travel Company of Egypt, in 1979, which has become the Middle East's foremost Travel Group.
El Chiaty holds numerous prominent positions in various influential tourism related associations like board membership of the Egyptian Hotels' Association, and the Supreme Council for Tourism. This in addition to being supervisory board member of TUI AG, the leading tourism group in Europe. Additionally, El Chiaty is also an active member of the American and German and Italian Chambers of Industry and Commerce. In 2006 El Chiaty was accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism for his leadership and efforts in promoting tourism in the country and especially for his role in introducing the North Coast to the Egyptian Tourism Map.
Under the leadership of Chairman Hamed El Chiaty, Travco Group grew to become the Middle East's Leading Leisure Group operating through its integrated group of companies operating in the tourism, hospitality and aviations sectors, with assets exceeding EGP 10 billion.
In the travel sector, Travco Travel has been recognized as the number one travel company in Egypt for 14 consecutive years, for generating the highest number of inbound tourists, with over 1.4 million in 2009 that are estimated to reach 1.6 million by the end of 2010.
As for hospitality, Travco's hospitality company Jaz Hotels, Resorts & Cruises owns and manages the largest portfolio of hotels and Nile Cruises in the Middle East, with a portfolio 51 4-star and 5-star hotel properties under the flagship brands Jaz, Iberotel and Sol Y Mar, and the largest fleet on the Nile with 22 5-star and 5-star deluxe cruise ships. After the association with Steigenberger Hotels AG, the Travco Group now operates a dynamic portfolio exceeding 154 hotels, resorts & cruises in Europe and the Middle East.

transportation, where the company owns and operates the Middle
East's largest fleet of coaches which includes approximately 1300 different sized
vehicles catering to all requirements.
Travco Group has also excelled in the aviation industry with its
ground handling services, ticketing offices throughout Egypt, host
of airline representations, in addition to the ownership of Egypt's
first low cost carrier Air Arabia Egypt.
Recently Travco has spread its business across the globe with 11 international branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Qatar, Syria, Jordan, Japan and China.
