Being the land of opportunity and growth, Egypt is now emerging as a globally competitive tourism country. In today's competitive marketplace, Egypt boasts a unique variety of product that combines the splendor of history with the sought after sea and endless sunshine; a unique formula that presents an edge and offers plenty of opportunity for tourism makers to explore. This proves to be increasingly attractive for international tour operators, the very thing that makes TUI Travel PLC come back now and again in search of further additions to its host of Egyptian tourist product.
A high-level delegation headed by Mr. Peter Long, CEO of TUI Travel PLC, and included Managing Directors of TUI Travel in England, central Europe, Benelux and Russia and top executive managers visited Egypt last June. Their agenda entailed assessing the feasibility of increasing the frequency of inbound flights to Sharm El Sheikh and the Red Sea. Additionally, they took this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new and upcoming projects powered by Travco’s hospitality arm, Jaz Hotels, Resorts and Cruises.
The delegation’s itinerary entailed a three day visit with a very busy agenda. On the 15th of June, they arrived to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, and enjoyed an overnight stay at the Iberotel Palace. The 16th of June, marked a jam packed day for the delegation as they visited some of the company’s prestigious properties in Sharm El Sheikh namely; Club Magic life Sharm El Sheikh Imperial, Jaz Bab El Shams, in addition to an orientation at the Jaz Mirabel hotel complex. From there they flew to Hurghada International Airport where they got the chance to visit Jaz Makadi Star & Spa, Sensimar Makadi Hotel, Iberotel Makadi Beach and the mega hotel development Iberotel Aquamarine in Hurghada. To reduce the intensity of the day, the delegation paused for a cocktail reception followed by a dinner at the Makadi Tower. The next day, they took off to Mersa Matruh’s unspoiled Almaza Bay. The visit was concluded on the 18th with the inspection of Jaz Crystal, Jaz Oriental, and Jaz Almaza Beach Resort.
The group was hosted by Mr. Hamed El Chiaty, Chairman and CEO of Travco Group, and Mrs. Amani El Torgoman, General Manager & Director of Tourism Operations, Travco Travel. They welcomed the delegation and underscored the growing importance of Egypt's tourism sector and the importance of tapping new segments and discovering new opportunities to further capitalize on its promising prospects.
